Waddington Custot is pleased to present Edges of Perception, a group exhibition featuring works by Kenia Almaraz Murillo, Nick Brandt, Ian Davenport, Hubert Le Gall, Umberto Mariani, Landon Metz, Marc Quinn, Arnaud Rivieren, Tomás Saraceno, Manolo Valdés, Sophia Vari, Fabienne Verdier, and Bernar Venet.
The exhibition explores how contrasts in material, form, colour, and sensation shape our perception of art.
At the heart of the show, Fabienne Verdier’s recent and earlier canvases capture painting as energy poised between control and release. Umberto Mariani’s folded lead surfaces transform weight into rhythm, while Nick Brandt’s photographs highlight the tension between monumental wildlife and fragile ecosystems.
Ian Davenport’s poured colours and Landon Metz’s meditative washes further extend this dialogue, alongside Rivieren’s steel monumentality and Saraceno’s aerial lightness.
Works by Almaraz Murillo, Vari, and Le Gall explore hybrid materialities, sensuous forms, and tactile balances.
The exhibition culminates with Bernar Venet’s Indeterminate Line, embodying structure and instability.
Edges of Perception invites viewers to see contrast not as opposition, but as a generative space for new ways of experiencing art.
